- Website Maintenance On November 24, 2009, President Obama signed Executive Order 13521 directing the establishment of the Presidential Commission for the Study of Bioethical Issues. The work of the Commission is not only open to the public but is often dependent on feedback from the public. The website is a critical tool in both disseminating meeting transcripts and background materials and in collecting feedback from the public. Outside web services are required to coordinate with Hillary Wicai Viers, Communications Director for PCSBI, to maintain the website and keep it up to date. The recent redesign of the overall site now includes back-end access so that our staff can more easily modify content. The Commission is assuming more website management functions, but requires technical assistance from a contractor familiar with the web content management system Drupal to help maintain the newly-designed website. The website is updated often and is vital to ensuring that the public has unbroken access to archived and future webcasts of the Commission's public meetings, the Commission's reports and investigations, as well as news, updates, and other timely information posted on a regular basis. Information regarding meetings and reports cannot be denied to the public. WEB ASSISTANCE REQUIREMENTS In consultation with the Executive Director and/or the Director of Communications for the Presidential Commission for the Study of Bioethical Issues (PCSBI), the Contractor shall develop, maintain and update the pages of the Commission's website. Duties to be performed under task order procedures include, but are not limited to: Task 1 Configure applications on the website to accommodate blogs, webcasts, etc. Task 2 Serve as system administrator for the website. Task 3 Evaluate products and services for the website. Task 4 Provide technical assistance and troubleshoot as needed using the web content management system Drupal.
