Description

The Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center, Network Contracting Activity (NCO) VISN6 Central Acquisition Service intends to contract by means of other than full and open competition for a service contract for Selenia Mammography Unit serial number 29412072681, R2 Cad System, 1 Port Serial number D2006, Securview DX serial number 29812071386, Plastic coverage and Securview TM serial number 49806080696. The government intends to award a sole source contract for this requirement. The NAICS Code is 334517 and the classification code is 6515. The suggested vendor is Hologic Incorporated, 35Crosby Drive, and Bedford MA 01730-1411. This equipment is to support the Veterans Affairs Medical Center located in Richmond Virginia. The VA intends to procure this requirement on a sole source basis in accordance with the statutory authority of 41 U.S.C. 253(c) (1) as implemented by FAR 6.302-1. Only One Responsible Source and No Other Supplies or Services Will Satisfy Agency Requirements. THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE QUOTES and no solicitation will be issued; however, any firm that believes it can meet these requirements may give written notification to the Contracting Officer. Supporting evidence must be furnished in sufficient detail to demonstrate the ability to comply with the above requirements. Responses are due by December 20th, 2011 at 11:00 AM. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
