Description
Request for Interest Form Ultrafiltration Feed Pump; centrifugal, variable speed, non-Newtonian slurry Document Number: 24590-QL-MRA-MPC0-00009 Important to Safety? Yes Quality Level: NQA-1 Quality Surveillance: Level-3 Commodity Code: MPC0 NAICS Code: 333911 Submit Interest By: February 1, 2012 PROJECT DESCRIPTION AND LOCATION The Hanford Tank Waste Treatment and Immobilization Plant (WTP) is a complex of radioactive waste treatment processing facilities designed and constructed by Bechtel for the Department of Energy (DOE). The facility will process the Hanford Site tank waste and put the waste into a stable glass form. The processed waste will be shipped to other sites for depository. The Project site is located at 200 East Area of the Hanford Site near Richland, Washington, along the Columbia River. The site elevation varies from 662 to 684 feet above mean sea level. Sand and silt exist as surface materials. Ambient temperature is (-) 23 degrees F minimum to 113 degrees F maximum, with relative humidity of 5% minimum to 100% maximum. The project design life is 40 years. SCOPE OF WORK Design, furnish materials for, fabricate, assemble, test, and prepare for shipment, complete slurry pump units. The pumps specified will be used to deliver radioactive fluids with concentrated solids to the inlet of a filtration process (Ultrafiltration). The filters will remove liquid from the fluid stream, and the concentrated fluid discharging from the filters will return to the originating supply vessel from which the pumps take suction, completing the Ultrafiltration recirculation loop. The filtration process will be continuous, and the pumps will provide a high discharge pressure (approximately 260 PSI) constant high volume flow (approximately 2200 gpm) to the filters. The pumps will be subject to both caustic and acid solutions during cleaning cycles. There will be two pumping systems, each to include two identical back-to-back pumps in series. The discharge from the first pump will be connected to the suction of the second pump; both pumps are identical and will operate together as a system to provide the required flow to the filters. Each pump will be equipped with an Adjustable Speed Drive (furnished by others) to maintain constant flow by controlling pump RPM of the individual pumps in the pump system. The pumps will be designed and built to API 610 - August, 1995 (with specific exceptions), and various ASME and AISC standards. The pumps will be designed and built to WTP Seismic II and NQA-1 requirements. EQUIPMENT AND MATERIALS REQUIRED Dry pit type vertical slurry pumps, complete with motor, structurally reinforced support frame for pump and motor assembly, wiring and conduits to remote lower electrical connectors, remote pump connector nozzles, piping from pump casings to connector nozzles, supports for pump connector nozzles, pump seals, pump seal flushing system with interconnecting piping to pump seals, remote handling features including captive bolts and nuts, nut retainers, location dowels, and operational and performance characteristics. (See concept drawings below) Approximate Dimensions - To view "concept drawings" go to Business Opportunities, specifically Permanent Plant Equipment RFP section at https://www.hanfordvitplant.com, CODES api 610, asme b31.3, asme section viii, div 1, asme section ix, asme nqa-1-2000 STANDARDS ieee-1983, standard for qualifying class 1e equipment for nuclear power generating stations QA REQUIREMENTS Potential bidders should provide, in electronic format, some documentation that describes their company's Quality Assurance program. A summary, or table of contents of the program, similar evidence will be satisfactory. The information can be uploaded directly into Bechtel's Supplier Registration website https//supplier.bechtel.com The successful bidder will have to be registered with Bechtel at which time they would have submitted their Quality Assurance Program for review by the project team. Before they may be awarded a P.O. the QA Program must meet the specific requirements on the QA data sheet of the Material Requisition. For QL MRs, the QA Program requirements are based on ASME NQA-1 2000. The bidder must have the ability to demonstrate satisfactory implementation of their Quality Program to be considered for an award. For CM MRs, the QA Program requirements are based on DOE Order 414.1C.
