- Medical Laboratory Tech. Request for Quotes Medical Laboratory Tech. Statement of Work Department of Labor, Wage Determination The Federal Bureau of Prisons (BOP), Field Acquisition Office, Grand Prairie, TX intends to make a single award for the provision of two (2) Medical Laboratory Technician services for inmates at the Department of Justice, Federal Bureau of Prisons, the Federal Correctional Complex (FCC) Petersburg, VA. This is a new requirement. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) Code is 621999 (Size Standard: $10 million). The contractor must have the ability to work with an inmate population from a variety of cultural, regional, racial and ethnic backgrounds. The Contractor's employees providing Medical Laboratory Technician services under this contract award must have six months of practical experience as a Medical Laboratory Technician or equivalent. Graduation from an accredited Medical Laboratory Technician program of two years length is preferred, but not required. Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT), American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) or equivalent certification preferred, but not required. Contractor must show proof of practical experience, education, and certification. Failure to provide such proof may result in elimination from award. All contractors doing business with the Federal Government must be registered in the Central Contractor Registration (CCR) database under NAICS Code 621999. The website for registration is www.ccr.gov. The contract periods will consist of a 12-month base period and four 12-month option periods for renewal with an estimated maximum of 1500 one hour sessions per technician per year. The Contractor will normally work, Monday through Friday (except Federal holidays), normally between the hours of 6:00 am and 4:00 pm, with a thirty minute unpaid lunch period (if applicable). The facility is expected to require an average of 30 sessions per week per technician. Hard copies of the solicitation will not be available. The website provides downloading instructions to obtain all documents relating to this solicitation. All future information concerning this acquisition, including the solicitation and any subsequent amendments, will be distributed through the website. Interested parties are responsible for monitoring the website to ensure they have the most up-to-date information about the acquisition. The date for receipt of quotations is on January 19, 2012. Faith-Based and Community-Based Organizations can submit offers/bids/quotations equally with other organizations for contracts for which they are eligible. This solicitation is a total small business set-aside. All responsible small business concerns are encouraged to submit a quotation which may be considered.
