- The Federal Bureau of Prisons, Federal Detention Center, plans to issue solicitation RFQP05171200002 for the construction of, to include but not limited to, cleaning or repairing, prepping, and resurfacing of the security fencing on the Recreation Decks at FDC Houston. The successful contractor will provide all labor, materials, and equipment necessary to repair and restore the woven security screen barriers on floors 3-7 of the building. The area of work encompasses approximately 164 woven rod screen panels covering approximately 4400 square feet. The performance period is 120 calendar days after receipt of a notice to proceed. The magnitude of this project is between $30,000 and $100,000. The solicitation will available on or about December 23, 2011 with an anticipated bid opening date of approximately January 31, 2012. The solicitation will be distributed solely through the General Services Administration's Federal Business Opportunities website http//www.fedbizopps.gov. Hard copies of the solicitation will not be available. The site provides downloading instructions. All future information about this solicitation, including any amendments will also be distributed solely through this site. Faith Based and Community Based organizations can submit offers/bids/quotations equally with other organizations for contracts for which they are eligible. Interested parties are responsible for monitoring this site to ensure that they have the most up-to-date information about this acquisition. This is a 100% small business set-aside.
