Description
This is a Market Research. The National Institute of Standards & Technology (NIST) is seeking information from the private sector that may be used to develop a solicitation for an on-line catalog/ordering system for the U.S. Department of Commerce, National Institute of Standards and Technology in Gaithersburg, MD. Parties are requested to submit information about commercially available on-line catalog/ordering systems that meet the requirements listed below: The on-line catalog/ordering system shall: 1. Integrate with the Maximo storeroom inventory system; 2. Present a due-in balance to the online customer, with estimated delivery date; 3. Present current balances to the on-line customer, update the current inventory balance when an order is placed, and create a backorder record if the item is requested but not available; 4. Provide an on-line catalog searchable by item number, description, which includes special characters and spaces, or commodity code (classification of item); 5. Provide shopping cart functionality; 6. Provide the capability to track order status; status should include when each item on order is filled, backorder items, partially filled items with due-ins for those items not filled (similar to a packing list); 7. Provide the capability to track order histories; 8. Allow business users to control the creation, management and publishing of catalog (product) information and web content (to include pictures); and 9. Provide ad-hoc query and reporting functionality. After results of this market research are obtained and analyzed for NIST's minimum requirements, NIST may conduct a competitive procurement and subsequently award a Purchase Order. If at least two qualified small businesses are identified during this market research stage, then any competitive procurement that resulted would be conducted as a small business set-aside. NIST is seeking responses from all responsible sources. Please include your company's size classification in any response to this notice. Informational responses to this RFI should be submitted electronically to Joe.Nguyen@nist.gov or by submitting it to the following address no later than the response date for this sources sought notice: ATTN: Joe Nguyen, NIST, 100 Bureau Drive Stop 1920, Bldg 301, Room A125, Gaithersburg, MD 20899-1920. Contractor's response should include achievable specifications and any other information relevant to their product or capabilities. Also, the following information is requested to be provided as part of the response to this sources sought notice: 1. North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) Code applicable to this requirement 2. Name of the company that manufactures the system components for which specifications are provided. 3. Industry's Standards such as Warranty, Software up-grade, Training, Maintenance, etc... 4. Indication of number of days, after receipt of order that is typical for delivery of such systems. 5. Any other relevant information that is not listed above which the Government should consider in developing its minimum specifications and finalizing its market research.
