Description
The Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) is the public health agency within the U.S. Department of Agriculture, responsible for ensuring that the nation's commercial supply of meat, poultry, and egg products is safe, wholesome, and correctly labeled and packaged for public consumption. The United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) is seeking a vendor capable of providing the agency with the development of a reliable, simple and rapid latex agglutination test (LAT) assay using using polyclonal or monoclonal antibodies. The latex Agglutination test (LAT) assays must have high specificity to the 6 (six)STEC strains, O26, O45, O103, O111, O121 and O145. Test kits shall be capable of specifically identifying the following E. coli serogroup O antigens: O26, O45, O103, O111, O121 and O145. Further, the Kit component shelf life shall be a minimum of 6 months when stored at 2-8 degrees C. Respondents are asked to identify their business size in their response to this notice. The NAICS Code associated with this notice is 325414 and the size standard is 500 employees. This notice is not a request for proposals and the Government does not intend to pay for information submitted. All responsible sources may submit a capability statement which shall be considered by the agency. All interested parties may identify to the Contracting Officer their interest and capability to satisfy the Government's requirement within 15 days of this notice which is January 6, 2011. Written responses must provide clear and concise documentation indicating your firm's capability to provide the Latex Agglutination test (LAT) test kits listed above. Verbal responses are not acceptable and will not be considered.
