- Description
- The NASA/SSC Office of Procurement intends to issue a sole source, firm-fixed pricecontract to Siemens Industry, Inc. for the procurement of preventative and remedialmaintenance service for critical fire detection, access control, and video surveillanceequipment provided by this vendor via a separate contracting effort. The period ofperformance is 1 April 2012 through 31 March 2013. Siemens Industry, Inc. is the onlyfactory authorized service provider for Siemens fire alarm systems. There will be onlyone award made for this requirement. This is a sole source commercial acquisition underthe authority of FAR Parts 8.405-6 and 12. The Government believes only one responsiblesource can provide the services that will satisfy the Agency's requirements. This noticeof intent is not a Request for Quote (RFQ) for competition. Interested organizations maysubmit their capabilities and qualifications to perform the effort, in writing, to theidentified point of contact not later than 4:00 p.m. (local time) on 3 January 2012. Statement of capabilities must contain sufficient details to review vendor'scapabilities. Submissions will be evaluated solely for the purpose of determiningwhether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis. Oral communicationsare not acceptable in response to this notice.A determination by the Government not tocompete this proposed effort on a full and open competition basis, based upon responsesto this notice, is solely within the discretion of the Government. This acquisition isunrestricted to GSA schedule contract holders.The NAICS Code and Size Standard are238210 and $14M respectively. FOB is destination. It is anticipated that a solicitationwill be issued to Siemens Industry, Inc. on or about 14 February 2012 with their responsedue NLT 4:00 p.m. 29 February 2012. An ombudsman has been appointed.
