- NOTICE OF INTENT In accordance with FAR 6.302-1, The Department of Veterans Affairs intends to award a Sole Source Firm-Fixed Price Purchase Order to a Small Business, Golden Cross Ambulance, for the immediate need for ambulatory and special needs transportation for veterans at the White River Junction VAMC, 215 North Main St, White River Junction, VT 05009-0001. This service was previously requested and no other vendors responded for coverage in this region. The immediate delivery period will be for a three (3) month period (01/01/2012 - 03/31/2012). This is for an interim coverage period, while the new contract is being solicited and will ensure there is no lapse in coverage for direct patient care. The new Request for Proposal (RFP) will be released on WWW.FBO.GOV within sixty days and will be set aside for SMALL BUSINESS. If you are a current small business and are interested in the new RFP, please email your interest directly to heather.simpson3@va.gov. This notice of intent is not a request for proposals or quotations; however, any challenges to this sole source must be received in writing and sent to heather.simpson3@va.gov to be considered by the Government for the purpose of determining whether or not to compete the requirement. Challenges must include information sufficient to enable the Government to make a determination that an equivalent service exists which would meet the Government's needs as stated herein. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed requirement based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. The anticipated award date is January 1, 2011.
