- Description
- The NASA/SSC Office of Procurement intends to issue a sole source, firm-fixed pricecontract to Trane for the procurement of preventative and remedial maintenance servicefor critical HVAC systems and components provided by this vendor via a separatecontracting effort. The period of performance is 1 April 2012 through 31 March 2013. Trane is the only factory authorized service provider for Trane Equipment and Controls. There will be only one award made for this requirement. This is a sole source commercialacquisition under the authority of FAR Parts 8.405-6 and 12. The Government believesonly one responsible source can provide the services that will satisfy the Agency'srequirements. This notice of intent is not a Request for Quote (RFQ) for competition. Interested organizations may submit their capabilities and qualifications to perform theeffort, in writing, to the identified point of contact not later than 4:00 p.m. (localtime) on 3 January 2012. Statement of capabilities must contain sufficient details toreview vendor's capabilities. Submissions will be evaluated solely for the purpose ofdetermining whether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis.Oralcommunications are not acceptable in response to this notice. A determination by theGovernment not to compete this proposed effort on a full and open competition basis,based upon responses to this notice, is solely within the discretion of the Government. This acquisition is unrestricted to GSA schedule contract holders. The NAICS Code andSize Standard are 238220 and $14M respectively. FOB is destination. It is anticipatedthat a solicitation will be issued to Trane on or about 14 February 2012 with theirresponse due NLT 4:00 p.m. 29 February 2012. An ombudsman has been appointed.
