Description
The following question was submitted for the subject white paper request. The responses are provided. The Response Date remains 29 December 2011. The Army Geospatial Center (AGC) POC is Amy Cole, email is Amy.Cole@usace.army.mil and Contracting Officer is Maria Martinez, email is Maria.L.Martinez@usace.army.mil. Question: When the solicitation envisions the assessment being "practical and performance-based", does this suggest that you do not want a computer-based assessment? Is a computer-based assessment that includes video/avatars/etc, sitting on an individual workstation, considered practical or would it be preferred to have a low/no-tech assessment that is manually administered "one on one" and manually scored? Response: The research description does not omit any form of empirically-sound method for assessing individualized cross-cultural ability. Nor does it suggest that a combination of two or more methods (e.g., computer-based, pencil-paper) would be inappropriate. What it does underscore is our need for assessing observable, quantifiable, performance-based behavior using methods that will be validated, empirically. We need much more than a behavioral model of IC-C ability. Also, we're looking for creative, thoughtful, and expertise- and military-driven ideas about measuring IC-C ability that will increase our understanding and increase potential transition to training.
