- Description
- The US DOT / FHWA awarded this contract using the 8(a) program. Under this contract, the Contractor shall design, develop, implement and operate a Research Data Exchange (RDE) that provides the data environments necessary to meet the research needs of the Real-Time Data Capture and Management and Dynamic Mobility Applications programs, described above. In addition to supporting the needs of these two major programs, the RDE may support other USDOT ITS Research programs, such as the Applications for the Environment: Real-Time Information Synthesis (AERIS) program and others. As described above, operation of the RDE includes: - hosting archived data sets, - hosting real-time data feeds, - supporting quality control and quality processing of data sets and data feeds, - linking to federated external data environments and data management systems, and - providing communication methods for user interaction, social media interaction, and outreach. In addition to the design, development, implementation, and operation of the RDE, the Contractor shall: - support an evaluation of the RDE and of the DCM program through requirements related to reporting of RDE usage statistics, - provide demonstrations of the RDE as requested by USDOT, and - support an assessment of potential future deployment of operational data environments to support deployed transportation applications.
