Description
DEPARTMENT OF THE NAVY, NAVAL MEDICAL LOGISTICS COMMAND SYNOPSIS AND SOLICITATION The Naval Medical Logistics Command intends to extend the period of performance on contract N62645-11-P-0039, for one month from 01 January 2012 to 31 January 2012. With GE Healthcare, 3000 North Grandview, Waukesha, WI, 53188, as the only responsible source. GE Healthcare is the current contract holder and is the only source that can meet the applicable background check, immunization, and information security requirements before the expiration of the current contract on 31 December 2011. GE Healthcare currently holds the contract for the service and maintenance for the installed medical equipment at NMC San Diego. The current contract N62645-11-P-0039 will expire on 31 December 2011, making this an urgent need for continuation. GE Healthcare is the only vendor capable of servicing the wide array of medical equipment to OEM standards that also has the info4rmaion security, background check, and immunization requirements in place. It is not feasible to award a competitive requirement before 01 January 2012. However, a subsequent competitive requirement is currently being evaluated. It is not possible to award competitive solicitation N62645RCB0007 before 01 January 2012. Not extending the existing contract would represent a significant patient safety risk if equipment is not maintained to the appropriate OEM standards. This acquisition is being conducted under simplified acquisition procedures IAW FAR 13.5. There are not set-aside restrictions for this requirement. The intended procurement will be classified under North America Industry Classification System (NAICS) 811219. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals and no solicitation document exists for this requirement. However, parties interested in responding to this notice will need to submit technical data, including cost, sufficient to determine capability in providing the same product. All capability statements received by the closing date of this synopsis will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. Based on the above information, the only technically acceptable system is provided by General Electric Company Inc. Capability statements shall be submitted by email only as a Word or PDF attachments to Rebecca Wisner at Rebecca.Wisner@med.navy.mil. NO PHONE CALLS ACCEPTED.
