- The Naval Oceanographic Office, Stennis Space Center, MS intends to issue a sole source award to Teledyne/Benthos, North Falmouth, MA under the authority of 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(1) and in accordance with FAR 6.302-1 Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. This requirement will be processed utilizing Simplified Acquisition Procedures in accordance with FAR 12 and FAR 13.5 Test Program for Certain Commercial Items as implemented by FAR 13.501(a). The requirement is in accordance with a Statement of Work that describes the acquisition of supplies/services to maintain existing undersea acoustic transponding systems/equipment used by the Naval Oceanographic Office. The existing equipment consists primarily of Teledyne Benthos manufactured transducers, transceivers, transponders, releases, pingers and battery chargers. The proposed contract will cover the main assemblies as well as the ancillary equipment i.e.; hand held testers, buoys, acoustical modems, anodes, and expendable transponder links as well as technical support for all of the items aforementioned components either at the contractor ™s facility, aboard Stennis Space Center or on station worldwide. The resulting contract will be a firm fixed price, indefinite delivery indefinite quantity type contract with a one year base period of performance beginning upon date of award, plus four one-year options. The anticipated award date is estimated at mid Feb 2012. This synopsis is published for informational purposes only and is not a request for competitive offers. Any inquiries concerning this requirement are to be submitted in writing to the Contracting Officer. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed action based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
