- This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; proposals are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Portland District requires a pick and carry load capacity analysis of of a 45 ton whirly crane at the Bonneville Project. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers has the need to pick and carry free-hanging loads with this crane. The original design of the crane did not certify any free-hanging pick and carry load. This requirement will provide design analysis of the applicable structural, mechanical, and electrical components of the entire crane and rail system to determine the following: 1) If the crane has any free-hanging pick and carry load capcity. 2) What the pick and carry load capacity is at certain luffing radii. 3) Any restrictions for the pick and carry load determined (such as boom angle, gantry speed, boom rotation restrictions, boom hoist restrictions, wind load, counterweight limits, and any other factors that may affect capcity).
