Description
The PM-SOF SSES Office is conducting market research in order to gauge the marketplace, state of technology, and availability of fiber alternatives for temperature adaptive insulation. The intended use of the temperature adaptive insulation is to produce a single garment which provides environmental protection across a wide range of temperatures to replace the multiple layers of garments currently utilized. Responses are limited to four pages, and should include the following information: 1)Maturity level of the technology as well as an estimate of the time and funding that is required to get the technology to an end state. 2)Temperature range that the insulation is being designed to provide protection in. 3)Environmental conditions that the insulation is being designed to perform in, i.e. cold, cold/wet, ice, etc. Berry Amendment compliance will apply to any and all demonstrated technologies. Respondents shall furnish the PM-SOF SSES Office with a written or electronic response concerning their capability to provide the technology described above. Any proprietary information submitted in response to this RFI will be appropriately protected when clearly identified as proprietary. Submitted materials will not be returned. Submissions shall not contain any classified information, but may be marked as company proprietary. Responses shall be submitted not later than 30 January 2012 to Charlotte Jennings at email charlotte.a.jennings2@us.army.mil. Title email responses in the subject line of the email as follows: "Response to TAI RFI". Email transmissions are limited to 5MB. This market survey is for information and planning purposes only, does not constitute a Request for Proposal (RFP), and is not to be construed as a commitment by the U. S. Government. All information is to be submitted at no cost or obligation to the Government.
