- The Department of the Army, Healthcare Acquisition Activity - North intends to negotiate a Sole-Source commercial item procurement with PHYSIO-CONTROL to provide LifePak15 V2/Monitor/Defibrillators/CPR/Pace/360J/SPO2/CO/METHB/12L/GL/NIBP/CO2/IP Trend Systems to include reusable sensors, chest compression system, battery power supply, AC power cords, power extension cables, training systems, mobile battery chargers, paddles, and equipment bags. This proposed procurement is for supplies for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 6.302. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotes. However, interested parties may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement no later than 12/29/11 noon local time. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Contracting Officer. The following verbiage is directly from the Justification and Approval for sole source and is posted in accordance with FAR 5.102(a)(6). PHYSIO-CONTROL is the sole-proprietor of the LifePak15 V2 with 360J of power, which is the only equipment capable of resuscitating 100% of patients requiring emergency cardiac care.
