- The work includes but is not limited to the following: Furnish, fabricate and install galvanized steel stairs, landings, railings, chain link security cages and gates, fasteners, reinforced concrete foundations, miscellaneous materials, etc. in accordance with the requirements of the SOW and reference drawings included to provide access to the elevated platforms for the ALSF light bars. This includes 8 sets of stairs at the following light bar stations: 16 + 00, 17 + 00, 18 + 00, 19 + 00, 20 + 00, 21 + 00, 22 + 00, and 24 + 00. Modify the existing handrails on the platforms to accommodate the openings for the new stairs. Remove the existing fixed ladders, ladder security gates, hinged railing gates at the railing opening at each ladder location, and ladder foundations at these eight stations and install a new section of railing and toe board to close the opening at seven stations where the stairs will be installed on the opposite side of the platform. Remove the warning signs from the existing ladder security covers and install them on the new chain link security cage gates. Install a chain link security cage and gate on the existing galvanized stairs at station 23 + 00. Install crushed rock aggregate surfacing around the new stair structures at the eight light bar stations identified in item 1 including walkways back to the existing aggregate surfaced road. Install additional aggregate surfacing at station 23 + 00 as defined in the SOW. Install a new 4/0 bare copper ground conductor at eight locations between the base of the new stairs and the existing earth electrode system near the support piers for the ALSF light bar platforms. Remove and dispose of all trash/debris resulting from this work.
