- Description
- This is a request for information. This is not a request for proposals and in no way obligates the government to award any contract. The purpose of this request is to gain knowledge of commercially available products that may be of interest to the USCG. The U.S. Coast Guard, Aviation Logistics center (ALC) has a requirement for an aircraft gearbox test facility. The concept is to be able to run aircraft gearboxes in a facility that would allow them to be tested and approved for installation on aircraft. The Gearboxes would be tested in a separate room from the test operators with the test being able to be safely conducted and viewed from a control panel. If both gearboxes could be tested in the single facility that would be an option that the USCG would take into consideration. Requirements include: Removal of the existing ATF engine test cell equipment in the proposed location. Installation of a Gear Box test stand/cell and control panel. Gearboxes that would be tested in the proposed facility are: CASA HC-144A Aircraft Propeller Gearbox NSN 2840-01-502-5384 GE P/N 6044T35P18 HAMILTON SUNSTRAND CORP. P/N 775800-18 HH65B Aircraft Main gearbox American Eurocopter Model 155-G4 P/N 366A32-0001-02 Interested parties may submit their capabilities and qualifications to perform this effort in writing to the identified point of contact not later than 11 Jan 2012. Such capabilities/qualifications will be evaluated solely for the purpose of determining whether or not the USCG will pursue this concept. Interested parties will need to provide the following information in their responses: Identify the technical baseline. Identify a narrative description of the effort. State the ground rules and assumptions. Responses will need to include a Rough Order of Magnitude (ROM). A ROM is an informal estimate of costs and/or price to support a given effort. Oral communications are not acceptable in response to this notice.
