- The VA Boston Healthcare System (VABHS) intends to negotiate on a sole source basis pursuant to FAR 6.302-1 -- Only One Responsible Source and No Other Supplies or Services Will Satisfy Agency Requirements with LEICA MICROSYSTEMS INC for the LEICA MICROSYSTEMS CRYOSTAT MODEL# CM1950. This procurement will be conducted under NAICS 339112 and size standard 500 employees. This maintenance agreement will require the vendor to provide the following services in accordance with the following statement of work: 1. Scope of Work: The Contractor shall provide all labor, supervision and all other resources required to export, repair, and deliver said Cryostat. The vendor shall install new E-Valve replacement, Filter drier replacement, and Freon/fitting/insulation repair/replacement to fix the machine and enable the machine to operate at a working temperature of the -25 degrees required for use. The Leica CM 1950 Cryostat is used for sectioning frozen brain sections which then go onto different staining procedures to yield results for various behavioral studies conducted in 1A-318. 2. Performance Period: The period of performance shall begin on date of award for an approximate two month period. 3. Type of Contract: The VA Boston Healthcare System intends to award a firm-fixed price agreement. 4. Place of Performance: All work shall be performed at the Vendor facility unless otherwise specified and mutually agreed to by the Contractor and COTR. In the instance where the Contractor is required to work at the Government site, that work shall not take place on Federal holidays unless directed by the Contracting Officer. 5. Key Assumptions: a.Work is performed by personnel with the qualifications needed to assure satisfactory quality. b.Contractor shall provide necessary supplies and equipment. This Notice of Intent is NOT a request for competitive proposals. Parties may identify their interest, accompanied by supporting literature, to the Contracting Officer no later than December 30th at 0700. Responses should be sent to James.Cimini@VA.gov. Information received will be for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct a competitive procurement. The determination to conduct a competitive procurement based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Contracting Officer.
