- Description
- The Columbia River Inter-Tribal Fish Commission (CRITFC) invites you to submit a quotation for a next-generation DNA sequencer according to the specifications listed below, to be used by scientists in the Hagerman Idaho genetics laboratory for general fisheries research on the Columbia River. You can find more information on our organization, including details of our law enforcement activities, at www.critfc.org and www.critfe.org. The specifications listed below were selected to meet our laboratory needs for sequencing, and were also designed to maximize compatibility with existing protocols and data sharing with other salmon genetics labs. Although these specifications are subject to change or modification, please match them as closely as possible with your quotation. All final specifications shall be negotiated and finalized by purchase order or contract prior to manufacture. CRITFC is entitled to purchase from the GSA schedule, but is not required to do so. You may submit either GSA or open market pricing. We anticipate that the provider whose proposal is the best solution for our project will be selected in March, 2012. Quotes must be valid through April 30, 2012. We will notify all providers, whether they are disqualified, rejected, or unsuccessful although responsive. Selection will be based on the ability of the proposed solution to meet the specifications below, the ability of the vendor/manufacturer to support the solution, and the anticipated price of the solution. I will be the single point of contact for all inquiries and correspondences. Please send your quotations and three references for your company via email by the deadline of January 31, 2012 to Shawn Narum at nars@critfc.org. We thank you for your time, effort, and interest in our genetics research. Specifications for next-generation DNA sequencer: •- Ability to yield at least 50,000 MB (megabases) of sequence data per run •- Average read length of at least 100 bases •- Demonstrated protocols for genotyping-by-sequencing applications in non-model species including: library preparation with pooled samples, even distribution of read depth across genome, de novo alignment of sequences. •- Existing protocol for novel genome sequencing and de novo assembly in non-model species •- Established protocol for "RNAseq" applications in non-model species Other preferred options: •- Established protocol for sequencing Restriction-site Associated DNA (RAD) tags •- Established bioinformatics pipelines for sequence assembly, alignment, and queries of reference genomes •- Low reagent cost per MB (megabase) of data •- Low error rate •- Support for installation, training, integration, and maintenance of instrument Thanks, Shawn Narum Senior Scientist - Lead Geneticist Columbia River Inter-Tribal Fish Commission 208-837-9096 x 1120
