- This is a SOURCES SOUGHT NOTICE for market research purposes. THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR QUOTATIONS The proposed notice is to acquire preventative maintenance and service calls (Assurance and Service Plan) for five (5) Applied Biosystems instruments. These instruments are: Quantity Description 1 5500xL AB, Assurance Plan 1 EZ Bead Emulsifier, Service Plan 1 EZ bead Amplifier, Service Plan 1 EZ Bead Enricher, Service Plan 1 Solid Covaris, Service Plan The Chemical and Biochemical Reference Data Division of the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) Materials Measurement Laboratory has the mission of promoting U.S. innovation and industrial competitiveness in the development and use of materials by advancing measurement science, standards, and technology. It is essential that the Applied Biosystems instruments remain functioning to help meet the mission of the Chemical and Biochemical Reference Data Division at NIST. This maintenance shall provide for priority repair and /or replacement of parts or components as necessary in the event of failure. The Contractor/service engineer must be authorized to perform preventative maintenance and service calls on the Applied Biosystems. The Contractor shall only employ tools, instruments, test apparatus, methodologies, techniques, and practices approved for use with the instrument by the manufacturer. The service protocols and instrument specifications shall be adhered to at all times. NIST is seeking responses from all responsible sources, including large, foreign, and small businesses. Small businesses are defined under the associated NAICS code for this effort, 811219. Please include your company's size classification in any response to this notice. If two or more small businesses are identified, we will consider a set-aside. Companies that are authorized to service the Applied Biosystems are requested to email product literature and a letter identifying the Applied Biosystems they are authorized to service to micole.cheatham@nist.gov no later than the response date for this source sought notice. The letter shall include also any include a third-party agreement executed by Applied Biosystems that authorizes services to Applied Biosystems instruments and information relevant to your capabilities. Also, the following information is requested as part of the response to this sources sought notice: 1. Name and size of the company. 2. Indication of the number of days after the receipt of the order that is typical for delivery of such services. 3. Warranty for parts replacement. All documents must be sent to Micole Cheatham, contract specialist, at the National Institute of Standards and Technology, Acquisition Management Division, 100 Bureau Drive, Mail Stop 1640, Gaithersburg, MD 20899-1640.
