- Description
- The U.S. Geological Survey, National Water Quality Laboratory has a requirement for raw and pre-cleaned bottles and caps which are to be used for field analysis shipping containers for water samples from field office to the National Water Quality Lab. Bottle specification will be completely identified in the solicitation. In general, the contractor shall provide bottles and closures (caps) for use as shipping containers for water samples from U.S. Geological field Office to the National Water Quality Laboratory. The bottles to be supplied shall be high density polyethylene (HDPE) bottles or as specified, which have an approximate thickness of.030 inches or 1 millimeter (mm). The bottles shall be narrow mount with a neck size of 28-410 (mm) and a shape known in the industry as =BFModern Round=BF (wide sloping shoulder) for the 125, 250, 500, and 1,000 milliliter (ml) sizes. Wide mount with straight sides size 89-400. The recycling code shall be imprinted on the bottom of each bottle. All bottles shall meet National Water Quality Laboratory Quality Standards as identified in the specifications. The supplies described herein and in the specifications are considered to be a commercial item. Therefore, procedures as described under FAR subpart 13.5 apply to this procurement. It is anticipated that this contract will be for one 12-month base year with four additional 12-month renewal option periods. Solicitation No. G12PS00081 will be available on or about January 24, 2012 at the following site: https://www.fedconnect.net/FedConnect. No written requests for the solicitation will be honored.
