Description
The intent of work to be performed on the structure is the cleaning of all exterior surfaces to remove built-up residue/contaminants, remove and replace wet seals,removal of exterior aluminum caps, inspect, replace dry seals as required, and re-tighten pressure plates. Work to include the following: 1. Working from top down, (and from Control -Tower towards 'Terminal building)clean/wash the entire exterior surface of the link bridge and curtain wall by soaking surface with clean water, scrubbing surface with a non-abrasive brush and non-abrasive commercial window cleaning solution, a final rinsing with clean water, and squeegee glass. (Use only low pressure water source that will not damage existing sealant.) Window cleaning solution shall he biodegradable and of a type specifically for this application that will remove the dirt and contaminant buildup without leaving any type of oily or other residue that will damage existing sealants or prevent proper adhesion of the any new sealant to be installed. Water available on site contractor responsible for supplying hoses and additional materials needed to perform cleanup work.2.Repair all horizontal and vertical caulk joints from the top ridge cap down to the lower joint of the horizontal trim connected to the top of the upper vertical glass wall panel below. Existing sealant is Dow Corning 11795 which shall also be used for repairs and in a color to match existing. Prep and application of new sealant shall be per the manufacturers requirements and include solvent cleaning utilizing the two-rag method (see attachment), and installation of new caulking in new opening and across existing sealant from glass surface to metal frame on opposite side of joint. Use masking tape to create straight/clean sealant lines. 3.Remove and replace in kind the 90 mil EDPM roofing system on the Link Bridge Vestibule per manufactures specifications to obtain 20-year warranty. 4.
