- The Army Contracting Command, New Jersey, on behalf of U.S. Army ResearchDevelopment Engineering Command Armament Research Development and Engineering Center (RDECOM-ARDEC), is conducting a Market Survey to identify potential sources with the capability to provide the U.S. Army with AKARDITEII for use in munitions. Respondents should be currently capable of manufacturing AKARDITE II defined by military specification DOD-M-64040A (dated November 21 1986). AKARDITE II is characterized in the table below: AKARDITE II (N-Methyl-N', N'-diphenylurea)Chemical formula: C14H14N2O Appearance White to Slightly Colorless Crystalline Substance Properties Units Values Test Methods Min| MaxMelting Point C 170.0| 172.0 4.5.1Moisture Content % -| 0.20 4.5.2Ash Content % -| 0.10 4.5.3Chlorine Content % -| 0.02 4.5.4Particle Size mm -| 1.4 4.5.5 Respondents should have sufficient production capacity to supply the U.S. Army a total quantity of 500 1,000 pounds of AKARDITE II. Interested respondents that believe they can meet the AKARDITE II requirements specified above shall provide the U.S. Army a detailed description(s) of their AKARDITE II including chemical and physical properties, product cost and a brief summary of their companys capabilities including description of facilities, personnel, past production experience and environmental compliance as it relates to the product(s). A follow-up detailed questionnaire may be provided to survey respondents and on-site visits may be performed as a result of further analysis. In addition to the information requested above, all responding sources shall provide a summary of their company's capabilities including the organizations: name/address/point of contact with telephone and email information, business size, and facility location. This sources sought notice is for information and planning purposes only, and should not be construed as a Request for Proposal (RFP) or a commitment by theU.S. Government. The U.S. Government does not intend to award a contract on the basis of this market survey. All information is to be submitted at no cost or obligation to the Government. The Government reserves the right to reject, in whole or in part, any private sector input as a result of the market survey. The Government is not obligated to notify respondents of the results of this survey. Any information provided will not be returned. If a formal solicitation is generated at a later date, a separate solicitation notice will be published. All responsible, interested sources are encouraged to submit their capabilities/qualification data any pertinent information, along with any questions no later than 3:00 P.M.
