- NASA/GSFC intends to extend a task order with SecTek, Inc., for protective servicesand increase the order value on a sole-source basis, pursuant to 10 USC 2304(c)(1), OnlyOne Responsible Source, for open market items not currently on its GSA Federal SupplySchedule. The current task order was awarded under GSA Schedule Number GS-07F-0279M andNASA delivery order number NNG08AZ01D. Services performed under the GSA schedule orderinclude uniformed operations, access control, traffic control, 911 operations, rovingpatrols, locksmiths, emergency medical services, personnel security, and protection ofpersonnel and property. This requirement is within the scope of the current task order,however, some of the costs related to providing the service are not under the GSASchedule contract. The open market items are incidental to the overall protectiveservices requirement. Competition is not available as the open market items integrallysupport the GSA Schedule services and cannot be separately competed. This action will support service from March 1, 2012, through September 30, 2012, withseven one-month options to go through April 30, 2013. The Government will award a firmfixed price modification for the extension of this commercial service.This notice is for information purposes only and is not considered a Request for Proposal(RFP). No solicitation will be posted on this website for this requirement. Adetermination by the Government not to compete this requirement based upon the responsesto this notice is solely within the discretion of the Contracting Officer. The Governmentwill not be responsible for any costs incurred by an interested party responding to thisnotice.The Government is currently working on a follow-on procurement for protective services atGSFC. To avoid a break in service, an extension to the GSA schedule order is necessary. NASA Clause 1852.215-84, Ombudsman, is applicable.
