Description

DESCRIPTION: The VA Nebraska Western Iowa Health Care System intends to negotiate a commercial (FAR Part 12) sole source contract with EBSCO Publishing, 10 Estes St, Ipswich, MA 01938, under the authority of FAR 6.302-1. Only one responsible manufacturer is known for this procurement. This is notice of intent to award sole source under statutory authority 10 USC 2304(c)(1), set forth in Federal Acquisition Regulation 6.302-1, Only One Responsible Source and No Other Supplies or Services Will Satisfy Agency Requirements. Note - No award will be issued from responses to this notice. Response to this notice does not legally bind the government in any manner. Your concerns will be considered if you respond to this posting with a similar product/service. The Nebraska Western Iowa Health Care System Library, requires a commercial off the shelf web based, full text, online subscription to a unique point of care clinical decision support information platform that will be made available for clinical staff in the Nebraska Western Iowa Health Care System network. The information platform will include the following; DYNAMED - A physician developed clinical reference Tool, CINAHL with Full text - A unique EBSCOH Host Product that is the world's most comprehensive source of full text nursing and allied health journals, MEDLINE with Full text - a unique EBSCOH Host Product that provides authoritative Medical Information to include Medicine, Nursing, Dentistry, the Health Care System & Pre-clinical Sciences, DENTISTRY AND ORAL SCIENCES - A collection of the most commonly used Dental and Oral Surgery Journals, HEALTH POLICY REFERENCE CENTER - Cover to cover content for over 400 Publications, HEALTH BUSINESS ELITE - Comprehensive journal content dealing with health care administration and other non-clinical health care institution management, PSYCHOLOGY AND BEHAVIORAL SCIENCES COLLECTION, Comprehensive database covering information concerning topics in emotional and behavioral characteristics, psychiatry and psychology 400 full text titles. Vendor will provide all sites on the Nebraska Western Iowa Health Care System network with access to a single online, web-based product. All quotes received by 5:00 P.M. Central Time, February 21st, 2011, will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
