- J&A Oki Custodial The purpose of this Special Notice is to synopsize the Government's intent to award a firm-fixed price bridge contract for the continuation of custodial services on a sole source basis to Koh Gumi & Company. The proposed contract action is for services for which DoDEA Pacific intends to solicit without providing for other than full and open competition under FAR 6.302-2, Unusual and Compelling Urgency. The Government intends to negotiate with only one source as the unusual and compelling urgency of this requirement precludes competition to the maximum extent practical. The current contract expires 31 March 2012. However, the anticipated award date for the new requirement is 1 October 2012, leaving a 6-month break in service. Therefore, a 6-month bridge contract is necessary to provide uninterrupted custodial services until the follow-on contract can be awarded. The anticipated award date for the bridge contract is 19 March 2012 with a period of performance from 1 April 2012 - 30 September 2012. The proposed bridge contract action is for custodial services for DoDDS Okinawa Schools and Facilities; 13 schools and 2 office buildings. J&A attached.
