- The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE), Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy is intending to award a sole source contract to the Alliance to Save Energy. The requirement consists of providing sponsorship payment for hosting and organizing ?The 2012 Energy Efficiency Global Forum? in Orlando, Florida from March 27 ? 29, 2012. The Alliance to Save Energy is the only organization that has the knowledge and expertise to host and organize the ?2012 Energy Efficiency Global Forum?. The DOE is using exemption to competition 6.302-1(a) (2) (ii), One Responsible source. This is a notice of intent and not a request for competitive proposals. No solicitation is available for this requirement. If a firm believes the DOE should not pursue this sole source procurement with The Alliance to Save Energy, then they should submit a capability statement and pricing information for the requirement within (15) fifteen calendar days of publication of this notice. A determina tion by the Government to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
