THIS IS A SOURCES SOUGHT NOTICE ONLY. THIS IS NOT A REQUISITION FOR QUOTATION (RFQ). THERE WILL NOT BE A SOLICITATION, SPECIFICATIONS, OR DRAWINGS AVAILABLE AT THIS TIME. This is a market research tool to determine the availability of sources prior to RFQ. This announcement is for information and planning purposes only and is not to be construed as a commitment by the Department of Veterans Affairs, implied or otherwise to issue a solicitation or ultimately award a contract. An award will not be made on the response received to this notice. The Government is not responsible for the cost associated with any effort expended in responding to this notice. All small businesses as well as large businesses are encouraged to respond. Upon review of industry responses to this Sources Sought Notice, the Government will determine whether a set-aside acquisition in lieu of a full and open competition is in the Government ™s best interest. It is the Governments intention if the solicitation is issued to award a stand/alone contract. The estimated dollar amount of the contract is less than $ 25,000.00. The applicable North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) for this acquisition is 236118 and the small business size standard is $33.5 million. The successful contractor to any forthcoming solicitation shall provide all labor, management, supervision, tools, transportation, materials, and all equipment necessary to renovate, repair, and alter the Veterans residence located in Bluefield, WV 24701 (Mercer County) for the work described below: Veterans residence will be provided the following improvements to accommodate needs to ADA Standards and specification as follows: Remove seven existing windows, replace with six single and one double low-e argon filled double hung windows. Remove existing 6' door and replace with steel clad atrium door. Build wood ramp to front door with pressure treated lumber. Discard old windows and door. Statement of Capabilities Submittal Requirements: The Statement of Capability (SOC) will determine the feasibility and/or basis for the Government ™s decision to proceed with acquisition. Interested firms must submit a SOC, which describes in detail the firm ™s capability of providing the work described above. Your SOC shall include the following: (1) full name and address of the firm; (2) name of principals (including title, telephone numbers); (3) copy of any certifications (if 8(a) certified, provide the SBA Business Opportunity Specialist name and phone number assigned); HUB Zone certification, Women Owned Small Business (WOSB) status, and SDVOSB or VOSB status (CVE Certification) or Small Business status; (4) DUNS number and CAGE Code; (5) provide information on two (2) similar recent past projects that best illustrates your qualifications for this contract; and (6) State Contractor License number. Submit your SOC no later than 3:00PM March 20, 2012 via email to Mr. Stuart Stovall at Stuart.Stovall@va.gov
