Description

THIS IS A SOURCES SOUGHT NOTICE ONLY. This is not a request for proposal. There will not be a solicitation issued at this time. The Department of Veterans Affairs, Veterans Integrated Service Network (VISN) 18 - Phoenix Consolidated Contracting Activity, has a requirement for labor, materials, equipment and supervision to perform project 504-12-005, Renovate Radiology Room #4, 1st Floor, Building #28 at the Amarillo VA Healthcare System (AVAHCS), Amarillo, Texas. The Thomas E. Creek VA medical Center in Amarillo, Texas is replacing a piece of radiology equipment and will be renovating the current room to house the new equipment. The work consists the removal of an existing hard (steel stud and gypsum board) ceiling and radiology tube support structure located above the hard ceiling. Removal all items in the current ceiling will be required and most items will be installed when a new hard ceiling is installed. A new tube support structure will be installed in accordance with drawings. The vinyl wall covering will be removed from the room and a knockdown texture wall finish will be applied and painted. The existing floor tile will be removed, sections of the floor will be leveled and repaired and new vinyl tile will be installed. A small quantity of new electrical raceway is required in the sub-basement along with modifications to electrical raceway in the room. The applicable NAICS code is 236220 Commercial and Institutional Building Construction. General contractors have a size standard of $33.5 million in average annual receipts. It is anticipated that a Request for Proposals will be issued in April, 2012. Award of a Firm-Fixed Price contract is contemplated by May, 2012. This notice is published to conduct market research to determine if there is a sufficient number of certified Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Businesses (SDVOSB) or Veteran Owned Small Businesses (VOSB) capable of performing the requirements to warrant a solicitation set-aside. It is strongly recommended that interested parties register in the US Department of Veterans Affairs Vet Biz database. Registration may be accomplished at http://www.vip.vetbiz.gov/. Interested parties responding to this sources sought request shall submit the following information at a minimum: (1) company name and address, point of contact with phone number, and DUNS number; (2) documentation relating to capability of performance of flooring, electrical, carpentry, painting, structural steel construction project (including references); (3) intentions of subcontracting program to include set-asides; (4) proof of registration in the VA Vet Biz website or intention of registration prior to submission of offers to a solicitation; (5) documentation on company's bonding capacity and limitations; and (6) any other pertinent company documentation. The response date to this Sources Sought notice is March 16th, 2011 at 5:00 pm. This market research is for informational and planning purposes only to determine if a SDVOSB or VOSB set-aside is appropriate. The Government will not pay any costs for responses submitted.
