- Description
- JUSTIFICATION AND APPROVAL The services include lodging rooms for attending conferees (Soldiers, Family Members, retirees and DA Civilians), meeting and reception rooms, audio/visual equipment, security and refreshments. This requirement executes the HQDA Army Family Action Plan (AFAP) conference and two General Officer Steering Committee meetings. AFAP allows senior leaders to determine if improvements and investments in programs meet the needs of Soldiers and Families by gathering first-hand information from those most affected by the changes in the Army to include deployments and the restructuring of the Army. Many of the attendees are junior enlisted or junior officers', surviving family members, retirees and spouses from around the world who do not possess government travel cards or personal credit cards and many do not have the financial ability to absorb the costs associated with the lodging and meals in the National Capital Region.
