Description

Levee Repairs, Velva, North Dakota. Flooding along the Souris River in 2011 caused severe erosion to occur along a 450 foot stretch of levee downstream of the Highway 42 bridge in Velva, North Dakota. The project repairs include but are not limited to the removal of existing concrete rubble that was placed during the flood event, re-shaping the existing levee, placement of riprap and bedding material, and some underground utility inspections /adjustments. The work involves placement of approximately 12,000 tons of riprap /rock fill, placement of approximately 1,200 tons of bedding material, and 7,500 cubic yards of excavation. The estimated price range is between $1,000,000. and $5,000,000. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code is 237990 with a small business size standard of $33.5 million. This solicitation is being issued as an Invitation for Bids (IFB) and will be 100% set aside for small business concerns. The solicitation, along with plans and specifications, is expected to be posted to this site on or about 30 March 2012.
