- Notice of intent to award sole source procurement Other Than Full and Open Competition (FAR 6.302-1). This notice is for information only; a solicitation will not be issued. THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR QUOTATION. No contract will be awarded on the basis of offers received in response to this notice. The associated North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code is 811219, other electronic and precision maintenance, with a size standard of 19 mil. In accordance with FAR 6.302-1, the Government intends to negotiate a sole source contract for services of sterilization equipment. The Government believes Getinge USA is the only source that will satisfy the agency requirements. The Government is contracting for this service from which Getinge USA is the only known source. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotes; however, any firm that believes that it can provide the requirement above may give written notification to the Contracting Office. All inquiries and concerns must be addressed in writing to Department of Veterans Affairs VAMC Pittsburgh Healthcare System 646: 1010 Delafield Road Pittsburgh PA 15215 or sent by email to jesse.rumbel@va.gov. Responses to this notice must be submitted by 3/17/2012 4:00 PM EST. Interested sources may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement. Any response to this notice must show clear and convincing evidence that competition would be advantageous to the Government in future procurements. Responses received will be evaluated; however a determination by the Government not to compete the proposed procurement based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. The Government anticipates an award date on or before 20 Apr 2012. Response to this synopsis is not required.
