- This is a Request for Proposal(RFP). The solicitation document and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular (FAC) 2001-27. This acquisition set aside 100% for Small Business. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code is 332999. The United States Army Medical Research Acquisition Activity (USAMRAA) has a requirement for the United States Army Medical Research Institute of Infectious Diseases (USAMRIID) for the following 4-Cage Primate Unit (Left Flush)/4-Cage Primate Unit (Right Flush) Item #1 MODIFIED #N2-2430-4SD RACK Material -.125" x 1.50" x 1.50" structural angle. Approximate Size - 55.00" wide x 32.00" deep x 82.27" high. Cage Configuration - 2 wide x 2 high, button hung. Casters - Plate type stainless steel with 5" diameter polypropylene wheels, two with brakes and two without brakes. BOTTOM CAGE Material - 22 gauge stainless steel sheet. 8 gauge wire. Approximate Size - OD: 24.16" wide x 30.20" deep x 34.57" high. ID: 23.70" wide x 27.78" deep x 34.00" high. Construction - One piece sheet wrapper sides and back, one piece wire mesh top, front, and bottom, wire bar guillotine door. TOP CAGE Material - 22 gauge stainless steel sheet. 8 gauge wire. Approximate Size - OD: 24.16" wide x 30.20" deep x 30.57" high. ID: 23.70" wide x 27.78" deep x 30.00" high. Construction - One piece sheet wrapper sides and back, one piece wire mesh top, front, and bottom, wire bar guillotine door. PANS Material - 18 gauge stainless steel sheet. Approximate Size - 29.00" deep x 58.80" long, 1 per tier = 1, 2 per unit. Style - Sloped "V" trough end down spout and drain to right side with attachment to allow units to drain to the rear. FEEDER Material - 24 gauge stainless steel sheet. #3 -18 gauge stainless steel wire mesh. Approximate Size - 4.00" wide x 3.00" deep x 3.00" high. Style - Removable sheet food hopper with mesh bottom, clips to front mesh under door. CARDHOLDER Material - 20 gauge stainless steel sheet. Approximate Size - 3.00" x 3.00". Style - Flat I.D. plate spotwelded to cage front. WATER Edstrom stainless steel "C" style automatic water system with 4 primate drinking valves, and all mounting hardware. Units to be manufactured to have a removable dual mesh partition panel that includes a removable solid partition panel. All responsible sources may submit a quote, which shall be considered by the agency. The competitive solicitation, solicitation amendments and all questions and answers relating to this procurement shall be made available via the Internet at https://acquisition.army.mil/asfi/ or https://www.fedbizopps.gov. The solicitation is anticipated for release to the vendor community on or about, March 14, 2012 and will only be available until April 16, 2012. Specifications of the requirement are provided in solicitation: W81XWH-12-R-0033. Potential offerors are responsible for accessing the website. Interested parties must respond to the solicitation in order to be considered for award of any resultant contract. To be eligible for an award, offerors MUST be registered with the Central Contractor Registry at https://ccr.gov/ and may have completed its representations and certification found at https://orca.bpn.gov/. All questions should be addressed in writing to Colleen Barnes, Contract Specialist at colleen.barnes@us.army.mil. Questions shall be submitted not later than 1200 hours (Eastern Day Light Savings Time) on March 22, 2012. Only one set of questions shall be received from each offeror. Numerous emails from one offeror shall not be accepted. Telephone requests will not be honored and bidder lists will not be maintained.
