Description
******************************************************************** This Second Modification hereby inserts the Bidder Questions resulting from the Site Visit of March 15, 2012 and the Government's answers: 1. There are 2 playground areas, Do we install the weed matte here? Ans. The mulch beds in the playground are maintained by FE (USCG Facilities Engineering) personnel. the alwn contractor isn't responsible for mulch or matting in that area. 2. Is the mulch at the playground included in the mulch count? Ans. Yes, they should include the removal of the Liriope as part of the quote for installation of weed matte. 3. At one of the buildings there were 3 areas that the Liriope was to be pulled and disposed of to facilitate the weed matte should we include this as part of our bid for weed matte? Ans. See 2., above. 4. Is the USCG opposed to mowing the property throughout the week using more than 1 or 2 days to do so if it increases the overall quality of service? Ans. It really does not matter. One or two days would be fine, but we don't want it to turn into a week-long affair. 5. How many LF is the perimeter fence line? Ans. 8,000 feet. 6. Is debris removal required on base outside the normal servcing schedule for gumballs, downed limbs, etc.? Ans. Contractor is expected to remove small materials, as described in the question. Any large limbs, etc., will be handled by FE. 7. Will the contractor be contacted by the USCG when an out of sequence servicing is required? Ans. Yes. The Facilities Manager will notify the contractor's POC if such situation arises. 8. Is the 2 to 3 inch turf height requirement the responsibility of the contractor to monitor/maintain or will the government contact the contractor when servicing is required more frequently than every 10 days? Ans. FE will notify the contractor's POC if additional mowings are required. 9. After the quantity of an ELIN line item is met, will additional treatments or quantity of material such as mowing, mulch and leaf removal be ordered IDIQ? Ans. Yes. This is why the attachment of the pricing matrix was included in the RFP. This must be completed and submitted as part of the RFP so as to provide for such determinations. 10. Is post emergent weed control required for the turf areas? Ans. Yes. 11. Is the turf seed blend listed in the SOW the only blend allowed, or is a recommended transitional blend acceptable for use by the contractor? Ans. Seed blend in the SOW is what is required. 12. Will the contractor be responsible for crack weed control? Ans. Yes. 13. Reference PWS 5.11 Fertilizer, the statement "Fertilize and post emergent weed control on all grass areas on campus during spring and fall seasons." Would the Government please provide additional detail on the application of fertilizer and post emergent weed control. Ans. Fertilize only. No follow-up weed care is required. AS A REMINDER, ALL PROPOSALS ARE DUE 12:00 P.M., NOON, FRIDAY, MARCH 23, 2012, ATTENTION OF Dale.H.Morrill@uscg.mil. Thank you. ****************************************************************
