Description
THIS IS A SOURCES SOUGHT ANNOUNCEMENT ONLY. This is not a solicitation for proposals, proposal abstracts, bids, or quotations. The purpose of this notice is to obtain information regarding the availability and capability of all qualified sources to perform a potential requirement. Responses to the information requested will assist the Government in determining the appropriate acquisition method. The Great Lakes Acquisition Center is planning to solicit for a vendor to provide Plastics and Metal Can Recycling at the Oscar G. Johnson VA Medical Center in Iron Mountain, Michigan. The base period of performance would be 5/1/2012 through 4/30/2013. The purpose of this notice is to gain knowledge of potential qualified sources and their business size classification relative to NIACS code 423930. Consistent with the VA's Veterans First Contracting Program, VA is particularly interested in identifying Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Businesses and/or Veteran-Owned Small Businesses with the capability to perform. All interested and capable respondents are requested to provide the information below. All responses to this notice shall include company name, address, point of contact, phone number, DUNS number (www.dnb.com), list of available products/services in the geographical location the respondent is able to service, and a list of the respondents establishment's certifications from private, State and/or local agencies documenting their safety and sanitary conditions and procedures. Responses to this notice should be sent via US mail to the attention of Allan H. Schmidt, Contracting Officer, Department of Veterans Affairs, Great Lakes Acquisition Center (69D), 115 South 84th Street, Suite 101, Milwaukee, WI 53214-1476 or email to allan.schmidt@va.gov. Telephone responses will not be accepted. Responses must be received in writing no later than 1:00 CDT, Friday March 30, 2012. All contractors interested in doing business with the Government must be registered in the Central Contractors Registration (CCR) database. The website for registration is www.ccr.gov. Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Businesses and Veteran-Owned Small Businesses should also indicate whether the company is verified by the VA in the Vendor information Pages (VIP) Databases at www.vetbiz.gov. Disclaimer and Important Notes: This notice does not obligate the Government to award a contract or otherwise pay for the information provided in response. The Government reserves the right to use information provided by respondents for any purpose deemed necessary and legally appropriate. Any organization responding to this notice should ensure that its response is complete and sufficiently detailed to allow the Government to determine the organization's qualifications to perform the work. Respondents are advised that the Government is under no obligation to acknowledge receipt of the information received or provide feedback to respondents with respect to any information submitted. After a review of the responses received, a pre-solicitation synopsis and solicitation may be published in Federal Business Opportunities. However, responses to this notice will not be considered adequate responses to a solicitation. Confidentiality: No proprietary, classified, confidential, or sensitive information should be included in your response. The Government reserves the right to use any non-proprietary technical information in any resultant solicitation(s). Interested parties may register at http://www.fedbizopps.gov to receive notification when the solicitation and any amendments are issued and available for downloading. Please note that the General Services Administration provides the notification service as a convenience and does not guarantee that notifications will be received by all persons on the mailing list. Therefore, we recommend that you monitor the FedBizOpps site for all information relevant to desired acquisitions.
