- Project # 646-09-125, "Renovation of 1 West Nuclear Medicine University Drive" at the Veterans Affairs Pittsburgh Healthcare System (VAPHS), University Drive, Pittsburgh, PA 15240 This is a competitive (best value) procurement set-aside 100% for Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business (SDVOSB). General Project Scope -- The purpose of this project is as follows: Work includes general construction, alterations, mechanical and electrical work, equipment, utility systems, necessary removal of existing structures and construction and certain other items for the Relocation of Nuclear Medicine from the 10th Floor to the 1st Floor, adjacent to the Radiology Department. The project involves construction services required to renovate approximately 13,600 square feet (+/- 10%) of the existing office and clinical space into the nuclear medicine department. The renovated 1West area will provide space for 4 total Gamma Cameras, updated stress lab space, patient dressing room space, sufficient outpatient waiting space, a shared in-patient waiting space which will serve the Nuclear Medicine and Radiology departments, as well as sufficient office, storage, and miscellaneous support space for the Nuclear Medicine department. The renovated space will also provide greatly improved patient privacy as well as security within the Nuclear Medicine department. The project will update all electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems in the area. The newly renovated 1 West area will provide relocated office and support space, as required, to accommodate GI and other miscellaneous personnel relocated as part of the 1 West renovation. The construction cost range is between $5,000,000 and $10,000,000. The applicable NAICS is 236220 with the small business size standard of $33.5 million. The Solicitation will be issued on or about April 5, 2012 to interested parties through electronic data interchange at the following URL: http://www.fedbizopps.gov for downloading FREE OF CHARGE. Any amendments to this solicitation will be available at the same website. Offerors are advised that they are responsible for obtaining amendments from the website. Any questions must be submitted to the Contracting Officer by e-mail to donna.yon@va.gov and must identify project number and name in the subject. A Pre-Proposal Conference date, time and place will be identified in the solicitation. Although not mandatory, all Offerors are encouraged to attend the Pre-Proposal Conference. The Deadline for Proposals will be due on or about May 7, 2012 (See solicitation for actual due date). All responsible sources may submit a proposal which shall be considered by the agency if received timely. Prospective contractors shall complete electronic annual representations and certifications at http://orca.bpn.gov, shall be registered in the Central Contractor Registration (CCR) database at http://www.ccr.gov and be registered and verified at http://www.vip.vetbiz.gov prior to award of a contract.
