- The Department of Defense Elementary and Secondary Schools (DDESS) intends to award on a competitive basis, using simplified acquisition procedures, a contract for Visually Impaired and Orientation & Mobility services in support of the Special Education Program located at Ft. Rucker, AL. The period of performance will be date of award through 30 June 2012, with four option year periods (with options periods extending to 30 June 2016). The solicitation number is HA60311RCPB007 and is issued as a Request for Quotation (RFQ). This action incorporates provisions and clauses that are in effect through the most recent Federal Acquisition Circular as of 23 March, 2012. Selection for this requirement will be based on "Best Value," with emphasis on lowest price. Other selection factors include past performance/experience and technical capabilities. Selection for this award will also depend on vendor's ability to become registered in CCR and begin performance by April 2, 2012. The Department of Defense Domestic Elementary and Secondary Schools is a federal government agency, an education activity, tax exempt, and qualified for academic/educational pricing. FSC Code: Q999.
