- The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), Engineer Research and Development Center (ERDC) Contracting Office intends to issue a sole source award to ALFAB, Inc., 220 Boll Weevil Cir E, Enterprise, AL 36330-3348 for the purchase of AM2 matting and AM2 ramps. The government has a requirement for AM2 matting and AM2 ramps for the development of the US Air Force's Rapid Parking Ramp Expansion kit, under the direction of the GSL, Airfields and Pavements Branch (APB). ALFAB, Inc., is currently the only vendor in the USA producing AM2 aluminum airfield mat and ramps for the Department of Defense. ALFAB, Inc., is the only producer and sole supplier of AM2 matting and AM2 ramps. The Government intends to procure from only one source under the authority of FAR 6.302-1(a)(2)(ii)(A), Only One Responsible Source and No Other Supplies or Services Will Satisfy Agency Requirements. This will be a commercial acquisition using contracting by negotiation procedures per FAR Part 15. This is not a request for competitive proposals and no solicitation is available. All responsible sources may submit a capability statement, proposal, or quotation to the Contract Specialist by 5:00 PM CST, Tuesday, April 10, 2012.
