Description

The Naval Air Systens Command (NAVAIR) intends to issue a Delivery Order under the current AAR-47 Missile Warning System (MWS) BOA N00019-09-G-0013 to Alliant Techsystems of Clearwater, Florida, to develop and conduct testing for Sustainment capabilities for the AAR-47 MWS. The AAR-47 Missile Warning System provides a low cost, light weight, self protection countermeasure capability to the United States Marine Corp. (USMC) and United States Navy (USN) helicoptors, rotorcraft, and low/slow fixed wing aircraft. The delivery order will be awarded on a sole source basis to Alliant Techsystems under the authority of 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(1), as implemented by Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 6.302-1, 'only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements.' Alliant Techsystems is the sole designer, developer, and manufacturer of the AAR-47 system and the only known firm with the unique engineering expertise, knowledge and source data to perform this requirment.
