This is a sources sought announcement only and is not a request for proposals or quotes. The Government does not intent to make an award on the basis of this Sources Sought Notice or otherwise pay for the information solicited herein. This notice is for the purpose of identifying potential sources and does not commit the Government to make an award and /or issue a solicitation. The Boston Healthcare System VA Medical Center is seeking qualified vendors to provide supplies listed in chart below. The following information is provided to assist the Department of Veterans Affairs in conducting market research of industry to identify potential contractors to provide the items identified below: Function to perform: A device to cross totally occluded arteries (TOA). The mainstay of crossing a TOA is utilizing the subintimal plane and then blindly reentering the true lumen of the artery distal or proximal to the occlusion. The catheter bores a lumen in the plaque, and regains intra-luminal access, which can then be followed with angioplasty and stent. Crosser catheter: Catheter with core wire Transmits mechanical vibration to the tip of the catheter at 20,000 cycles/second Catheter system is indicated to facilitate the intra-luminal placement of conventional guide wires beyond peripheral artery chronic total occlusions via atherectomy.
