SECTION TABLE OF CONTENTS DIVISION 01 - GENERAL REQUIREMENTS SECTION 01 11 00 SUMMARY OF WORK PART 1 GENERAL 1.1 REFERENCES 1.2 DEFINITIONS 1.3 SUBMITTALS 1.4 WORK COVERED BY CONTRACT DOCUMENTS 1.4.1 Project Description 1.4.2 Location 1.5 CONTRACT DRAWINGS PART 2 PRODUCTS PART 3 EXECUTION SECTION 01 11 00 SUMMARY OF WORK PART 1 GENERAL 1.1 REFERENCES The publications listed within the specification sections form a part of this specification to the extent referenced. The publications are referred to within the text by the basic designation only. 1.2 DEFINITIONS Definitions pertaining to sustainable development are as defined in ASTMS and as specified. 1.3 SUBMITTALS Government approval is required for submittals with a "G" designation; Submittals not having a "G" designation are for information only. When used, a designation following the "G" designation identifies the office that will review the submittal for the Government. The following shall be submitted in accordance with Section 01 33 00 SUBMITTAL PROCEDURES: Submit the following items to the Contracting Officer: Cabinet and Hardware sample Plumbing, sink and faucet sample Counter top sample Glass tile sample Under-sink Osmosis filter data Downflow 5 KW Recessed Ceiling mount heater data Ceiling Tile Samples Vinyl Flooring Samples Frost Free Up-right Freezer data Recessed flourescent four bulb 4' light fixtures Closet doors and trim 1.4 WORK COVERED BY CONTRACT DOCUMENTS 1.4.1 Project Description The work involves remodeling the Maintenance Building Day Room. Demolition work will consist of removing and storing furniture, bulletin boards, and appliances in a designated area, removal and disposal of cabinets and sink with reverse osmosis system, remove closet doors and trim, remove 3 layers of tile flooring and vinyl base trim, remove ceiling tiles, Remove and replace six flourescent four bulb light fixtures. [Note: The base layer of vinyl floor tile may have asbestos in it. It will have to be tested prior to full removal. If it is determined to have asbesto in the tile the option line item for floor tile asbestos abatement will be initiated.] The new remodel work will consist of installing new solid wood cabinetry and solid surface counter tops with 4" back splash and glass tile between the back splash and under cabinet edge or height as designated on the plans on the east and west walls of the room. A new single bowl stainless steel sink unit with chrome pull-out faucet unit and reverse osmosis tap with under cabinet filter unit. The interior area of the under sink cabinetry will be coated with a water resistant coating such as marine varnish to prevent damage due to water leakage under the cabinet. New vinyl flooring and 2'x 2' ceiling tiles with recessed light fixtures will be installed in the existing grid or modified as needed. The stove electrical will be relocated and a new outlet installed for the ice machine and electrical service will be run to ceiling mount heater above windows. Closet doors, frame, and trim will be replaced with oak six panel doors and trim stained chestnut or pecan color. The room and hallway area will be repainted to a selected designated color with a semi-gloss latex paint. Furniture, appliances and bulletin boards will be reinstalled as indicated. 1.4.2 Location The work shall be located at the Maintenance Building Day Room for Big Bend Project as indicated. The exact location will be shown by the Contracting Officer. 1.5 CONTRACT DRAWINGS The following drawings accompany this specification and are a part there of. Sheets 1 through 6. Three sets of 8-1/2" x 11" size contract drawings, maps, and specifications will be furnished to the Contractor without charge. Reference publications will not be furnished. Contractor shall immediately check furnished drawings and notify the Government of any discrepancies. PART 2 PRODUCTS Not used. PART 3 EXECUTION Not used.
