- Description
- The US Army Fires Center of Excellence's Capabilities Development Integration Directorate (CDID) and TRADOC Capability Manager Fires Brigade (FiB), Fort Sill are requesting information from industry regarding the capability to provide a possible alternative(s) to the currently fielded Guided Rocket system. The resulting information will be used to assist the CDID and TCM FiB in developing future requirements and ammunition strategies. This market research effort will compile and assess capabilities and maturity of technologies available today or in the near-term based on technology readiness levels (TRL). Capabilities of interest include (but are not limited to): increased range - up to 250 km, optimizing pod configuration, and provide lethality effects equivalent to 200 pounds high explosive blast/fragment in a single warhead. Interested vendors (Government and Private Organizations) are requested to provide a short, 8 page or less (excluding cover page and table of contents) white paper detailing their potential solutions. All documents be developed using MS Word, and be written in Times New Roman 12 pt. The white paper should include a description of the capability, its technical maturity based on TRL, and your point of contact (name, telephone number and email address). Please do not include corporate capabilities or past performance discussions. White papers must be submitted to government POCs not later than 15 April 2012. This request for information also constitutes an invitation to a meeting on 17 April 2012 between the government user representatives and interested vendors. Project Manager, Precision Fires Rocket and Missile Systems will be represented at the meeting. The format for this meeting will consist of a group session where general topics will be discussed and specific questions answered. Vendors submitting information may be invited to a breakout session between the individual vendor and a government panel. Development and submission of the white paper and costs associated with meeting attendance will be at no cost and no liability to the government. The meeting will take place at Ft Sill, Snow Hall (BLDG 730) Reimer Conference Center on 17 April 2012 and begin at 0900 CDT. Individual breakout times will be posted on the day of the meeting. Interested Vendors must submit a visit request in JPAS. Fort Sill SMO Code is W2NTAA6B. Meeting POC is Mr. Jeff Froysland, 580-442-4896. This RFI is issued as Market Research, solely for information and planning purposes. It shall not be considered as an Invitation for Bid (IFB), Request for Quotation (RFQ), Request for Proposal (RFP), or as an obligation on the part of the government to respond, or to acquire any products or services. Any response to this synopsis will be treated as information only. Not responding to this RFI does not preclude participation in any future RFP, if issued. If a solicitation is issued, it will be synopsized on the Federal Business Opportunities (FedBizOpps) website. POC for the white paper is Mr. Jeffrey L. Froysland (580-442-4896). White paper must be submitted by email to: jeffrey.l.froysland.civ@mail.mil.
