Description

DEPARTMENT OF VETERANS AFFAIRS Justification and Approval For Interim Contract Approval 1.)Contracting Activity: Department of Veterans Affairs, VISN 1, Lorrie A. Baines VA Medical Center 2.)Nature and Description of the Action Processed: VISN 1 Contracting Office out of Manchester, NH has received approval for an interim contract for 6 months with a six month option while a competitive contract is solicited. The interim contract is was requested and approved with the incumbent to cover the time period of April 1, 2012 through September 30, 2012 with a (1) six month option to cover the period of October 1, 2012 through March 31, 2013. This interim contract will provide for vital services during the time of the expired contract and the new contract. 3.)Description of Supplies/Services Required to Meet Agency's Needs: The hospital or Health Care Organization (HCO) agrees to provide the services as specified to all veterans accepted in transfer or referred from The Department of Veterans Affairs, VA Medical Center Manchester, NH herein after called VA, in accordance with the terms, objectives and conditions of this contract. The hospital or HCO facility (facilities) providing services under this contract must be located within 30 miles of VA Manchester, NH and must either accept orders from VA providers or will designate providers who are privileged and credentialed at the facility to assume this responsibility. 4.)Statutory Authority Permitting Other than Full and Open Competition: 41 USC A §253 ©, as implemented by FAR 6.302. (1)Only one Responsible Source and No Other Supplies or Services will satisfy. Unusual and Compelling Urgency per FAR 6.302.2 Contracting Office Address: Department of Veterans Affairs; Lorrie A.
