Description
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, New England District is issuing a Sources Sought Announcement for a construction project for the Townshend Dam Bridge Repairs project, near the town of Townshend, Vermont to determine the interest, availability, and capability of 8(a), HUBZone, Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned and Small Business concerns as described below. The NAICS code for this procurement is 237310. The project is planned to be issued on or about August 2012. The construction will occur in the fall of 2012 and is expected to take 1-2 months. The estimated construction cost is between $100,000.00 and $500,000.00. This project consists of the following components: For the Spillway Bridge: 1. Remove all vegetation and silt from around bearings. This step requires the use of an Under Bridge Inspection Machine that can drive within a 12-foot-wide lane, such as Paxton Mitchell's Mark V Snooper truck. 2. Replace deteriorated bolts at bearing panel points and paint bearings. This step requires the use of an Under Bridge Inspection Machine that can drive within a 12-foot- wide lane, such as Paxton Mitchell's Mark V Snooper truck. 3. Replace/repair guardrails at both approaches. 4. Repair scaled concrete at top of northwest wing wall. 5. Repair approach slabs at both approaches (saw cut and repair with new concrete). 6. Repave approaches adjacent to approach slabs. For the Service Bridge: 1. Apply penetrating sealer to bridge deck. 2. Replace guardrail on the west side of the approach. Interested firms should submit a capabilities package to include the following: business classification (i.e. HUBZone, etc.) as well as qualifications and experience in performing the work components stated above. Firms must submit past demonstrated construction experience with the components stated above. This experience must have been performed within the last five years. Subcontractors may be used to demonstrate this past experience. Responses are due April 30th, 2012. Responses should be addressed to the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, New England District, 696 Virginia Road, Concord, MA 01742-2751, ATTN: Elandria M. Cameron. Responses are limited to twenty pages. Firms interested shall provide the above documentation in one original form and one copy. The Government will not pay for any material provided in response to this market survey nor return the data provided. This notice is for information purposes only and is not a request to be placed on a solicitation mailing list nor is it a Request for Proposal (RFP) or an announcement of a solicitation. The results of this survey will be considered to be in effect for a period of one year from the date of this notice.
