Description

The Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center located at 2250 Leestown Road, Lexington KY has a requirement for the following work in accordance with the Statement of Work: Contractor shall furnish all materials, labor, equipment, supervision and transportation for asbestos abatement in Building 25 Room 36, Building 25 Room 18, Building 1 Stairwell 2 and Building 29 Linen Room at the Leestown address. The work will include the following: (a) Removal and Disposal of approximately 375 linear feet of asbestos containing pipe insulation in Room 18 of Building 25 and 315 linear feet in Room 36 of Building 25. Removal includes vertical pipe insulation and horizontal pipe insulation above ceiling tiles. (b) Removal and disposal of approximately 1,125 square feet of asbestos containing mastic located under commercial grade carpet in Room 36 of building 25. Carpet removal is included in project. (c) Removal and disposal of approximately 400 square feet of asbestos containing floor tile and mastic from Building 1 in Stairwell 2. Work to be performed after 4:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. (d) Removal and disposal of approximately 145 linear feet of asbestos containing pipe insulation in Building 29 Linen Room. Work is to be performed after 4:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. Work areas to be sealed with critical barriers, placed under negative pressure, HEPA vacuumed and encapsulated upon completion. Asbestos waste to be disposed of at an EPA approved landfill. The construction cost range is between $25,000 and $100,000. THIS PROCUREMENT IS 100% SET ASIDE FOR SERVICE DISABLED VETERAN OWNED SMALL BUSINESS (SDVOSB) CONTRACTORS. SDVOSB contractors must be verified and visible in VETBIZ (www.vip.vettbiz.gov) prior to submission of bid and prior to award of contract. Construction by special trade contractors, at least 25 percent of the cost of the contract performance incurred for personnel will be spent on the concern's employees or the employees of other eligible service-disabled veteran-owned small business concerns. Contractors must register at www.ccr.gov; https://orca.bpn.gov; and https://vets100.vets.dol.gov to be eligible for award. All registrations must be up-to-date and correct. The North American Industrial Classification Standard (NAICS) code is 562910 with the small business size standard of $14.0 million. ORCA must reflect a small business size certification for the NAICS code noted herein. Solicitation is to be posted to FEDBIZOPPS website (www.fedbizopps.gov) o/a May 23, 2012 with offers due o/a May18, 2012. Paper solicitation will not be issued. Contractors must obtain solicitation and amendments (if issued) from this website. Offerors are reminded that they are responsible for obtaining and acknowledging all amendments to the solicitation prior to or at time offers due.
