Description
Project: 405-08-101; Replace Standby Generator Furnish and install all labor, materials, and supervision as required for a new standby generation capability to upgrade and replace the existing 1000KW unit in building 32 in accordance with project 405-08-101 plans and specifications. Replace existing associated support equipment (electrical, mechanical, etc) as required to meet capacity needs of the new larger generator and to comply with current codes and industry standards. Replace current switchgear and controls that connect the generator to the facility's electrical distribution system. Replace the related existing telemetry and control equipment. Replace the existing fire pump with a diesel pump "in a box". Remove asbestos containing materials in building 32. As required demolish and remove existing equipment and provide owner with appropriate credit for equipment salvaged. The primary construction trades involved in this project will be Electrical, and HVAC. For this project the C & A requirements do not apply and a Security Accreditation Package is not required. Completion time: This project is expected to take 365 days (12 months) from Notice to Proceed to substantial completion. All work, materials, and workmanship shall be in strict compliance and conform with all federal, state, and local codes, ordinances, rules, and regulations, to the published specifications and recommended practices of the manufacturers including the Americans with Disabilities Act. Contractor shall verify all dimensions and existing conditions. Contractor shall minimize disruption to VA Medical Center operations and provide protection and safety measures in and around the job-site including all labor, materials, and equipment required to execute these measures. This procurement is 100% set aside for service disabled veteran owned small business (SDVOSB) firms. Please note that this is not a Request for Proposal and the Government is seeking information for planning purposes only and does not constitute a solicitation or a commitment by the Government to later publish a solicitation. No solicitation document is available and telephone inquires will not be honored. Interested parties shall submit verification of their company's ability to meet the VA's requirement to the Contracting Officer.
