- Description
- The work consists of providing underwater diving services and construction of piping repairs within a connected inland below-grade wetwell (approximately 178 feet below ground surface) associated with the Tri County/Mni Wast Water Company raw water intake. Underwater divers will be required to temporarily plug the lake intake to make repairs inland will require diving to depths in excess of 115 feet in Lake Oahe near Eagle Butte, South Dakota. Piping repairs will consist of removal of portions of existing piping and replacement with new materials including ductile iron piping and marine dock hose within the wetwell. Work will also include miscellaneous welding and steel fabrication of a sliding pipe support system and other associated appurtenances and spot/touchup painting within the wetwell. Continuous dewatering of the wetwell will be required to perform the work within the wetwell in a dewatered/dry state. Miscellaneous work also includes maintenance and restoration (grading and possible gravel replacement) of any damages caused to the site access roadway used during construction. The estimated construction cost of this project is between$150,000 and $250,000. The Contractor will be required to commence work within 10 days after notice to proceed and complete the work 75 calendar days after receipt of Notice to Proceed. Provisions will be included for liquidated damages in case of failure to complete the work in the time allowed. Performance and payment bonds will be required.
