Description
Contracting Division, Natick, MA intends to award a Firm fixed Price Purchase Order to Covance Laboratories of Madison WI, for conducting research to catalog the nutritional composition of the current ration components available for purchase and consumption by Warfighters in theater and during training scenarios. This research will provide a better understanding of ration nutritional composition and is aimed to optimize Warfighter health and performance through nutrition. The end product of the Ration Analysis Program is a cumulative database with requirements to include single item comparisons of nutritional content. Analyses have been conducted by this vendor since the inception of this program (> 5 years) due to the complexity of the nutrient analysis comparison over both time (newly procured items versus stored item nutrient changes) and over ration procurement years (changes in recipe formulations). This provider has the quality control measures needed to stabilize and compare the results required for the Ration Analysis Program Database. This is a necessity when maintaining a database containing complex data trending storage and procurement changes over time Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a ompetitive procurement in the future. Interested parties may identify their interest and capability to respond to this requirement to the U.S. Army Contracting Command-APG, Natick Contracting Division, via e-mail at stephen.abate@us.army.mil. No later than 23 April 2012, 12:00 pm EDT.
